My unforgettable moment in the history of KISS

My unforgettable moment in the history of the kiss was on November 17, 2012, when he came to Brazil to do a show in Sao Paulo. I'm a fan of Kiss my 8 year old, I'm 19 years old today, but my love for KISS only increased. I was waiting for this show for a long time, I did not know if the kiss would come to my parents make a show, just knew that one day I would go on a show, never lost hope. On 17 November I was in the arena Anhembi in front of the stage, watching Tommy Gene Paul and Eric playing live classics that I grew up listening to my radio. That day was a mix of emotions, I cried, I smiled, I went crazy! I can not set the day of the show in words, much less the importance that KISS have in my life. The kiss changed my life. Kiss I want to thank you for coming to Brazil and help me fulfill my dream of seeing a live KISS show and especially for allowing me to be part of the 40 years of the greatest band on earth! I hope the return of anxious Kiss in Brazil for another show.

My KISSTORY!

I first saw KISS one afternoon in 1974 (I was 11) on the Mike Douglas Show! I loved Alice Cooper, horror movies and comic books. And here I was seeing FOUR Alice Cooper's who combined EVERYTHING I loved in one frightening package! Since that day 39 years ago I have been with KISS through the great times, good times, and bad times. From that first KISS song, FIREHOUSE, to the newest album, MONSTER, they have been THE soundtrack to (most of) my life! I saw my first KISS concert 35 years ago this past week at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. Since that incredible show I have seen them 29 more times! I have met each of the original members at least once (Gene, Paul & Ace all in the same magical night at The Limelight in NYC on August 26, 1988 when Gene & Paul joined Ace for an encore of DEUCE... the photo of me with Gene taken that night). I have also met Eric Singer, who was one of the most approachable people in the world. My only regret was I never got to meet Eric Carr, who I have never heard one single bad word about. He is still missed to this day! KISS has been a HUGE part of my life. As I close in on 50 I can look back and thank them for so many great memories! So, CONGRATULATIONS KISS for 40 YEARS of ROCK 'N ROLL MAYHEM! I love you guys and wish you well as the PSYCHO CIRCUS continues....

40 years!

Hi KISS! I have to say... Kiss is part of my life for over 15 years (I'm 29). "Forever" is the song theme for me and my wife, for example. It's amazing the fact that I can find a Kiss song for each and every moment of my life. I was in their concert in Sao Paulo last year (the picture is from that date. I'm the Demon on that picture, and my with is the Spaceman. We're also with our good friends Nickolas - Starchild - and Jessica - Catman). "The hottest band in the world" is now the same thing as saying just Kiss. They're great, and not only for their work onstage. Businessman, songwriters, etc, etc, etc (and also, "Live to Win" is a great solo work from Paul)... When I first met my wife, I was looking for a way to get into her heart, and "Forever" did the trick. "Stand" translates what I think about true friendship, "Black Diamond" is one of the best songs I've ever heard... and I could keep writing and writing... So, all I can say is: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KISS! Looking forward for the next 40 years! Never stop Rocking! All the best, Renato Pioker

KISS memory

The day Kiss introduced Eric Carr on Kids are People Too. That moment changed my life and became the main reason why I chose to play the drums. I thought Eric looked so cool and I wanted to be just like him.

KISSforever

Hey Kiss! My first contact with the world of music, was when I saw my uncles records, Kiss Alive, Alive II and Creatures of the night. It was 1983, I was 3 years old, and the feeling was overwhelming. Imagine the requirements I put on music experience from that moment. I am so happy that Kiss was my gateway to music, you have given me 30 years of joy. Whenever I am happy, sad, angry or mellow, Kiss is always the soundtrack! Thank you for bringing a religious meaning to rock music 40 years ago! Love! Erik

My introduction to KISS

KISS came into my through my sister in 1977 when I was just 7 years old living in Elmwood Park, NJ. The first song I remember hearing from them was "I Want You" and I also remember staring at the 'Rock & Roll Over' album cover constantly wondering who these guys were. For you younger fans you must realize that there was no VH1, MTV, cable, YouTube or any of the mass media that has basically stripped our imagination of what we thought bands were or looked like. Instead, I had to rely on magazines that my sister bought like '16', 'Tiger Beat', 'Hit Parader', 'Creem' and others that escape me just to see the pictures and imagine what being at a concert in person would be like.. My first KISS album was KISS Alive II which I got at the 'Harmony Hut' music store in Paramus Park because I shoveled the diveway following the great blizzard of 1978. The album was $9.99 and I thought that was all the money in the world. A funny side note would be that my sister went to see the band at Madison Square Garden on either the 'Love Gun' or R&RO tour I forget which and she understood how upset I was that I couldn't go. The following day when I had 1,000 questions abouthow the show was (Sammy Hagar of all people had opened), she let me look at her tour book and said that she had met Paul following the show and got me an autograph. She let me look at it and said that she would hold on to it because it was so valuable. Problem was unbenownst to me, she forged it!! So, whenever I wanted to look at "my" autograph I had to do her chores and then she would hide it away again. The sad thing is that I didn't know that it was a fake until I was about 30 and boy was I pissed!! As I approach my 43rd birthday with a 7 year old son of my own, I can see clearly how perfect KISS were for the times and how they were able to create an image so powerful with their characters and everything else that even if they are a little older and slower, those images still transcend the times. This isn't about some of the criticism that KISS as a band (or brand) has taken recently What this is about is a tribute to those four guys who inspired me to pick up my first pair of drumsticks, who made me want to be in a band and express myself creatively through music and most importantly to be an individual. Like any first love, I've moved on to other bands and genres of music, but KISS is always there either in my memories or more recently on my iPod. Those songs are a part of the landscape of Rock & Roll and some of the new ones hold up very well. I certainly would have found music without KISS, but it sure wouldn't have been as fun! Thanks guys!!
