KISS Fan

First I want to congradulate KISS on 40 years as a band. I have been a KISS fan since I was a kid because they looked soo cool. Around the end of my freshman year of high school, I started to listen to alot of hard rock and metal band, including KISS. When i heard KISS was doing a tour with Motley Crue and it was coming to Pittsburgh (actually Burgettstown but close enough), I had to get tickets, and on easter (and my moms birthday coinsidently) I got tickets from my uncle to go. I was so excited, this was my 2nd concert in 2012, and 3rd in my life.Me and my mom loved the show and it builds a strong bond cause the parent experiences what the child is into. It was an amazing concert experiance because i've heard KISS was an amazing live band, and now I know its true and next time KISS comes to Pittsburgh, i'll be there.

KISS Magic - The REAL Paul and Gene

Hi fellow fans. With Kiss coming to my home town in a couple of weeks, I just had to share this story with you. I know this is a long letter, but so worth it. Back in 1994, my mate and I were in the US on holiday. So one of the first things I did was find out from Kiss' record company where they would be playing that summer. Unfortunately, there were no tours planned I was told, only a one-off show in Chicago, as part of a Blaze FM celebration day. Seeing that it was on the day before my birthday, my mate bought me a ticket and we flew to Chicago. The venue was a little out of the city and the best way to get there was by train, so we decided to check out how to get there the day before the show. When we arrived in the afternoon, we just walked in and noticed that there were crew setting up equipment, so we just sat in the seats and watched. After a while, someone came up to us and asked who we were. We told him that we were from Australia and had just come down to check out the venue. He told us that we were not allowed to be in there and escorted us out. When we got to the foyer, he asked a man at the door to make sure we left the building. By this stage the trains had stopped running, so we called a taxi. It was so cold outside that we asked the man at the door if we could just wait inside until the taxi arrived. He then gets a call on his radio and tells us that we have to wait outside, as he was locking the door because the band was arriving for a sound check. Well, what would you do? We had no choice but to pay the taxi driver $20 and send him on his way. We just had to try and say hello to the band, as an opportunity like this would never come around again. While we were waiting outside trying to work out our next move, we see a limo driving around the back. By the time we get to the back, we catch a glimpse of Bruce and Eric getting out. Okay we thought, Gene and Paul are still to arrive. Now the tricky part was not to look like we were dodgy characters hanging around the back car park. Of course, eventually the guy who asked us to leave in the first place spotted us and said "look guys, I've asked you to leave already, what are you doing here?" We pleaded that all we wanted to do was say hi to Gene and Paul when they arrived and then we would leave. He finally said okay you can say hi at the door. (We later found out that this was Tim Rozner, their road manager). Before I even had a chance to think about what to say, a limo pulls up and Gene gets out quickly and walks in. My mind is racing so I had to say something to Paul before it was too late. Now Paul had always been my favorite member so this was really tough. I called out "Paul", just as he was about to enter the building. He suddenly stopped and walked back to us. I told him who we were and that we were from Australia and that I had been life long fan and how honored I was to meet him. He was very gracious and thanked me and then said "Why don't you come in and stick around?". You can imagine how we felt. That's the kind of KISS Magic that I've felt my whole life. We then sat in on a roughly 30 minute rehearsal, with only about a dozen people in the room. I was in a daze. At some point I couldn't contain myself and just had to cheer at the end of some songs. I mean c'mon, you can't just listen to a Kiss song live and do nothing. After the set, the band sat on the side of the stage and were just toweling down and I thought there's no one stopping us from going up and talking to them. So I literally went up to Paul and sat down and had a casual one on one conversation with him for about 10 minutes. Talk about a down to earth and respectful guy. Paul was such a genuine person that I could not have been more proud at that moment. Don't ask me what we talked about as it was all a blur. I then met Bruce and Eric, who of course we all know now what top blokes they are. Lastly, I was looking at Gene and thinking I have to go up to him, but what do you say to the God of Thunder? So I took a deep breath and walked up to him, introducing myself and explaining how much of an influence Kiss had been in my life and what a pleasure it was to meet him. At that point he put his arm around my shoulder and gave me a hug. Shortly after that, they left and said to enjoy the show tomorrow night. I wanted to share this story because this was a real meet and greet. There were no cameras, this was no act. Paul did not have to invite me in to the rehearsal. He could have just said hello, shook my hand and left it at that. He didn't have to talk to me after the rehearsal but he did. Gene didn't have to hug me but he knew what it meant. This is what Gene and Paul are really like, always for the fans. Any decisions ever made in the past that involved past members, was only with the fans' best interests at heart. The Kiss Army understands this, which is why we will support you for as long as you allow us to. I'll see you in my home town Perth Australia, in a few weeks.

My first concert

Hi! So, my story begins like this. It was the spring of 2004 when i was turning 15 years old and my parents decided to send me to Disneyland as a gift, but one day, when i was reading the news paper, and i saw this great picture of KISS in an article, so, it called my attention and i read it. It was the big notice of KISS visiting Mexico on their Rock The Nation Tour! I had never been in a concert before and, at that time, all my school books had the KISS logo on them, i used to paint the national heroes or whoever appears on them with KISS makeup, so, i decided to use my birthday gift in that concert! The most shocking part of the concert was when Paul rode that thing that made him flew over the audience and play "I was made for loving you". Nowadays, i had the opportunity no see KISS live once again, but now on their MONSTER TOUR, in a bigger venue and all i can say is that THEY ARE STILL ROCKING MY LIFE!!!

KISS & Me

Kiss has been a part of my life for over 35 years and I feel as though we have grown up together. I discoverd them in 1977 at the age of six years old and have never stopped loving them, through all of their incarnations, make-up, non make-up, make-up again, they have remained one of the few constants in my life. They have been with me for the good, bad and ugly times of my life and always make appreciate music, life and the importance of being YOURSELF. I have been fortunate enough to meet several members of the band on numerous occasions, I have a picture of Gene with his arm around my mom and have sat with Eric Singer for two hours at the Rainbow in Los Angeles drinking and talking. I helped to build the stage for the first show of the Reunion Tour in Tiger's Stadium and was one of only about 50 people who watched the dress rehersal the night before the show. Talk about an honor!! I have adorned my body with several tattoo's to pay homage to the "the Band that helped me become who I am" and have devoted an entire room in my home to my KISS colection. I will be a Loyal Member of the KISS ARMY until they put me in the box. I can't say "THANK YOU" loud enough to KISS for being who you are and for creating this living, breathing thing that we all love so much. HAPPY 40th Anniversary!!!! Michael Mascali

KISS story

Hi, my name is Mike and I live in RI. I have been a Kiss fan since 1975. I have been to several Kiss shows, and they are better and better every time. I have attached a picture from 2004 Boston concert. I have met Kiss a few times, and they treated me like royalty. They are devoted to their fans, and make no appology for kicking ass on stage. Kiss has been an inspiration for me through school, work, and my social life. I have even taken my daughter to see Kiss for her first show 2 years ago when she was 4. She loves them, and wants to meet Gene Simmons. Thank you again for 40 years of kick ass music. Sincerely, Mike Botelho, RI

KISS Helped me when I wanted to study at College

Hey guys! :D My name is Marina, I´m 24 years old, I´m from Mexico City and I wanna share with you my Kiss Experience :) When I was 18 I wanted to study graphic design but a lot of people begun to tell be a lot of bullshit about what being a designer was, so I baecame a DJ because that was something I knew how to do it, but it never made me happy or filled me at all, I wanted to be a designer but I couldn´t, because I was scared about what my family and some other people could think about it. The time passed and I was pretty loser, I was totally unhappy, my life sucked and I got any money at all, but one day I met my actual boyfriend who showed me how magical KISS music can be, so he put the song "Crazy Nights" for me and I realized that I should fight for my dreams without listening other people, that just wanted to take me down instead of helping me, so I decided to look up for my dreams and became a designer instead of living my only life the way I was doing it, so I came for it. Last year I entered to college and I begun to study Graphic Design, I can´t tell you how much I love being the way I am now, I´m completely happy and I love to be what I´ve always wanted to be, and this is because of you guys! :D Now every morning when I´m on my way to school I listen to "Crazy Crazy Nights" song, it fills me with energy and a great attitude no matter what. I know my story might be a little silly comparing with others but words aren´t enough to describe how greatful I´m with you guys for helping me to find my way in life. Thank you Paul, Gene, Ace, Peter, Tommy, both Erics for being part of my life and for creating such a marvelous music!! I´m always gonna be your fan till the world ends and beyond! :D Please come back to Mexico soon, cause a new generation of the KISS Army Mexico has begun, my little brother who is 11 years younger than me is crazy for you guys ;D Sincerly Yours Marina Rbago aka Marine Starchild

Favorite Memories as a KISS Fan

It was 1977 when I became a KISS fan. I bought the album, "Destroyer," and after a little disagreement with my mom, she let me keep it, and I was hooked for life. The four masked men just mesmerized me. It was the music that captivated me, and it still does after being a fan for 36 happy years. I have had so many memories of being a KISS fan. One of my favorites is when in 1997, I bought a very cute beagle puppy, and named him after my favorite KISS member, Ace Frehley (photo of me and pup, now 15 years old enclosed). He's an awesome dog. My first KISS show was on July 28, 1996 at Madison Square Garden, seeing the original four. Great show. That was first of 46 total KISS shows that I would wind up seeing. I got to do a lot of traveling around the USA, Canada, and Australia. I have even gotten to meet just about everyone who has ever been in the band (except for Eric Carr, RIP) several times over. However, what I have loved the most about KISS is that I have a huge "family," as Paul Stanley has called us. Through the KISS shows, and fan held expos, I have met so many friends, and acquaintences that I don't think I would have if it weren't for KISS. It is the band's uniqueness, and their music that I think has introduced me to people that I would have never met otherwise. Thank you guys for the 40 years of music that you have given to rock and roll, and for the 36 years of enjoymen that you have given to me. Your Fan, Terri Bey Lexington, KY

40 years of KISS

I remember having a KISS poster in the 70's I was maybe 7or 8 I never got the names right when I pointed to the characters. Later on when I started to really get into music KISS was and still is my band. They just have that good time vibe to their songs. My first KISS album was Rock & Roll Over on 8-track.I remember me, my brother, my sister, & my cousin playing "air instruments" to the songs and singing them ~ whatta hoot ~ I was the oldest and always pointed out what the others were doing wrong. KISS has been my sound track for 30 years ~ through high school-in my 20's,30's and still to this day @ 43. Thank you for all of the good times that I shared with you through your songs.
