A KISS Thought

A KISS Thought: KISS Love Gun and the single Christine Sixteen were released in 1977. If Christine was 16 in 1977 that means she would be 50 years old this year. She is now 16 years away from retirement. Happy 50th Birthday Christine Sixteen! Nick The Quig Clemente

just something that i fine cool

Alexa Webb, Morgan Siler, Brook Schwartz and Rachel Franks won top prize at the Sturgis High School homecoming week festivities for their Kiss costumes, as part of Twins Day. This is homecoming week in Sturgis, Centreville and White Pigeon. Sturgis, Mich. High school homecoming means different things to different people. Parents fill the stands to watch their sons play football, their daughters cheer and to see who earns the homecoming crown. Alumni who have moved away come back to reconnect. In the school halls, spirit awakes the week before the game. This year, some local school districts have made changes in homecoming activities, while others pressed on with tradition. Homecoming games are being played tonight in Sturgis, Centreville and White Pigeon. In Sturgis, school spirit is high this year, said Mary Bogart, student senate advisor. Maybe its because the football team has won four of its first five games, or maybe the students are proud Trojans, Bogart said. Festivities started Sunday with a snake dance and bonfire, and included a new fundraiser beat a beater, which was a chance to take a sledgehammer to an old van for a good cause. All week there have been spirit activities at school with good participation, Bogart said. A parade through downtown Sturgis is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. today. There will be fireworks at the football game and the crowning of the homecoming queen at halftime. The Trojans take on Kalamazoo Central at 7 p.m. For the complete story, see the Journal's Friday edition or visit sturgisjournal.mi.newsmemory.com

Thank you, Gene and overdue apologies to Paul

Guys, I'm a long time, lucky Kiss fan from Indiana. I was in Terre Haute at the Hulman Center in 1976, at Roberts Stadium in Evansville in 1977 and 1996 and Reunion tour in Louisville. I've attended all the various Indianapolis shows and conventions to the State Fair Hottest show this past August. You guys are simply the most unparalleled performers ever! What role models for respecting our country, the military, our youth and families and for hard work and endurance! I wish to thank Gene for taking the time to answering my email some years ago about an explosion at Roberts Stadium back in 1977. He's an intelligent force of bravado and creativity unequaled on and off stage. I wish I could tell you about my career and your influences some time! I wish to thank Paul for signing my guitar at a convention in Indy. I'll never forget how he studied my guitar and handled it so carefully. During the Reunion tour at Louisville after the show, my wife and I were staying at the same hotel as the band. We were playing pool in the lounge area, and Paul was surrounded by many fans complimenting him. I really wanted him to know how I liked his special Black Diamond solo that night, but I had simply decided not to bother him. Well, we were shooting pool, and I looked up, and Paul, across the room, was smiling at us! Then, I was so embarassed that I didn't go see him. I was sort of starstruck and immobile at that point. Anyway, years later I want to thank Paul for his dignity, showmanship, skill, artwork and thoughtful stage comments. Not forgetting Eric and Tommy, thanks for all the hard work and talent each show and each cd. You guys make me proud, just showing how much you really care! Most of all, thanks for hanging in there despite all the inconveniences touring and performing can have on your lives. Your unselfish love for your work and the fans show in the most obvious ways! Take care and keep in touch! Chris I
