Kindness and KISS go together

My daughter and I were out with my Grandson today and he saw a man wearing a KISS t-shirt so being such a huge fan, he got all excited. My daughter mentioned to the man that he loves KISS so loved the man's shirt. A few minutes later the man returned wearing a different shirt and handed my grandson the shirt, telling him if he was that big a fan he was welcome to keep the shirt. My Grandson was elated and later asked why the man did that. We explained to him there is an expression that people will literally give you the shirt off their back to see you smile and that man was a good example. Kiss fans truly are the best! Now he can wear the shirt when we surprize him with his birthday present...we are taking him to see KISS when they come to Winnipeg. Three generations of fans,,,,Grandma, Mom and grandson....AWESOME!!!

Congratulations

What is known in Victoria, BC as the "Stanley Cup of Rock Memorabilia" is our very coveted "KISS" fibre optic statue that we won this last year from a local radio station 100.3 the Q. (http://www.theq.fm) at their $10.000.00 prize "potluck" party. By the way, we are in no way affiliated with the station...just huge Rock fans! Unfortunately the picture we have of it is too big to upload. Out of all the prizes we could have chosen we picked our now "infamous" statue :) Next week there should be a picture of it on the Q's website. They are running the contest again, and just wanted to let you know that this wonderful statue gained us entry into the contest again - well that and good ole' luck getting through on the phone and beating out the two other contestants! Congratulations on your nomination to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - it's long overdue!!!!! Hey Gene, want to drag your show up here to beautiful Victoria and present the statue to the new winner? :) How cool would that be... by the way, we are known to Dream Big or go home! Cheers and have a great tour!!

the detroit KISS show

I noticed something today while watching some clips of KISS at Cobo Hall Arena in Detroit, Michigan at KISSONLINE.COM. When someone panned around to get a shot of the crowd, I noticed that was THE arena from the ALIVE album. I knew they were playing there, but it was another thing altogether to see the architectural lines of the arena and put the video I was watching and the album cover Id looked at a million times together. And for a moment, though not sad for them, I had an idea of how KISS and all the fans there must have been feeling, seeing this place for, what could be, the last time. The first thing that came to mind was how it must feel for someone like Derek Jeter or Yogi Berra to have seen the last game played at Yankee Stadium. The point here being, has any band, or entity for that matter, ever been so closely associated with a venue or a city? I think not. And like most of us who see these places transition, ie. the new and old Yankee Stadium, it always brings a happy tear to our eyes when we think about the good times that brought us to where we are today. Thanx for all the great times.

JUSTICE...

Finally it has come to pass KISS is nominated in the RnR Hall of Fame. Some ask why should KISS be in the HoF? Simple...There is Blues, Rockabilly, Rock N Roll, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and there is KISS. Whether one loves (like me) or hates them, there is no doubt they should be enshrined in the HoF. KISS is what I have dubbed, the FIRST Multimedia act that has ever been around. If you are blind, they give us rockin tunes to enjoy. If you are deaf, you enjoy the visuals of a truly bombastic show. KISS is a phenomenon! The legendary rockers will never die or fade away. Greatness last forever. I have witnessed the greatness of KISS 5 times and this October will be 6. Thank you Paul, Gene, Eric Singer, Tommy, Eric Carr, Bruce, Mark, Vinnie (yes, Vinnie), and last but not least, Ace and Peter. God has given rock n roll to us all but, blessed us with KISS. Thank you!!! John Pensacola, FL
