American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Hello KIS and KISS Army, My name is Daryl. I am 42 years old, and I am going to walk in the Relay for Life this year in Stillwater, Oklahoma. My family has been hit by this terrible disease many times. I had an uncle who died from lung cancer, my dad has had skin cancer several times, and my mother-in-law had breast cancer removed a year and a half ago now. The reason I am posting this letter here is because I know that cancer has affected KISS and the KISS Army in more than one way. First with Eric Carr, and his untimely passing,May God bless his soul, and also with Shannon Tweed and her bout with breast cancer just to name a couple. I am walking in this over-night relay to raise money for the American Cancer Society, so they can continue their fight against this life-robbing disease. Please go to my Facebook page and click on the Relay for Life "support me" button. Pledge what you can and I will let the highest pledger dictate what I wear throuout the night (within reason and good taste, please) I would love to do this in memory of Eric and dress in full KISS make-up and costume. I will post pics of the event after the relay. Please, I am begging for monet to be pledged to this event. Cancer can strike anyone, at any time. Link to my Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1131968682 Thank you all!! Daryl Briggs

My surprise 40th birthday

Hi Kiss Army! When I showed up at the famous Centre St-Ambroise in Montreal, Canada last Thursday, I thought he was just meeting friends for a drink. What a surprise I got when I realized the entire hall had been rented for my 40th birthday party. But it wasn't just any birthday, my wife knew me better than that, it was a KISS THEME PARTY. KISS ME... I'M 40 birthday. What happens when a bunch of friends get together to celebrate a birthday party with a kiss theme... MADNESS. A make-up artist was hired to encourage people to go all out and get the KISS make-up they've always wanted. Some of Montreal's best singer/songwriters were invited to play a few songs (Rob Lutes, David Martel, Max Comeau) but there was one condition: They had to play a kiss song. Fantastic versions of See you tonite, Everytime I look at you, I was made for Lovin' you and Beth were sang with personal twists that will be remembered forever. Then came the cake... and of course, a KISS cake was presented. There was one slight change, the cake sported a recent shot of Tommy, Eric, Paul and Gene but Gene's face had been photoshop'ed out and replaced with my face. A night to remember. I've seen Kiss play shows in 4 different countries. I always want to be in the first five rows of every show (THE BEST WAY TO INTERACT WITH THE BAND) and am a proud member of the Kiss army since 1979. I will remember my 40th birthday party forever! Rock on Kiss. Rock on!
