Paul Stanley to host private event for veterans at new Rock & Brews Vacaville, CA
Rock & Brews co-founder and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Paul Stanley of KISS will host a private veteran luncheon with local operator Jon Mesko at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with local government officials and a luncheon hosted by Stanley for more than 100 veterans, active military and first responders, in partnership with the local veterans’ charity, Operation Care and Comfort.
A private invitation-only VIP event hosted by Stanley will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
“We are excited to become a member of the community of Vacaville and look forward to contributing to the vibrant restaurant scene with our unique dining and entertainment experience,” Stanley said in a press statement. “With all openings, we look forward to paying respect to local veterans, active military and first responders who dedicate their lives to protecting their community and our country.”
Operation Care and Comfort provides support and comfort to dozens of adopted units of deployed U.S. military service members serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflict regions.
Working within their community and through donations received from all over the U.S., they assemble and mail care packages to these adopted units until they return home.

Review: Paul Stanleys Soul Station, Billboard Live Tokyo
By Stefan Nilsson, Roppongi Rocks
Unlike their KISS bandmate Gene Simmons (who recently played KISS songs in Japan with his solo band), Paul Stanley and Eric Singer are staying away from KISS nostalgia when they now do a 12-gig Japan stint at Billboard Live in Tokyo and Osaka with their band Soul Station.
Soul Station puts on a terrific hour and a half celebration of classic soul music. This evening they open with The Temptations’ “Get Ready” and follow with The Delfonics’ “La-La Means I Love You”. We get a great and comprehensive showcase of classic American soul music from artists such as The Miracles, Al Green, The Spinners, Five Fairsteps and much more. Paul Stanley’s voice fits the music very well. He’s on top form and he clearly loves performing this music. But this is no solo act as Stanley pointed out to me when I met him the day before the Japan tour kicked off. Soul Station is a 13-person collective of fab musicians. Eric Singer, who has also played with Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper, gets to show that he can handle soul music just as well as he normally thunders away on a KISS classic such as “Creatures of the Night”.
