Letters

Saturday Morning, May 11th, will be a day that I will never forget. It was the day that I met my hero, my influence, my mentor....the god of thunder himself, Gene Simmons. I was incredibly nervous to meet the man that has helped me survive my crazy life and who has forever changed the face of Rock 'N' Roll. I will never forget how nice Gene treated me and how pleasant he was to all of the KISS fans that showed up that day. I've often heard people say "I wonder what is it like to meet God?" This for me was close enough. This was my religious experience....a KISS-tianity experience. Gene's Q&A was one of the funniest and most heartfelt things I have ever sat through. I hope to one day speak with Gene again....so we can joke and laugh about this nervous guy who dressed like a rock star...which got Gene's seal of approval... finally getting to meet his hero. Dear KISS, I am a 17th year math teacher in Parker, Colorado. My students know that I am a fan of KISS so last 3 of them decided that we should do KISS in full makeup at the assembly for the seniors. In front of about 2000 students our drummer, bass player, and lead guitar (who are all students) did their stuff. I was able to sing a portion of Love it Loud and then lead into Rock and Roll all Night. The link below is a video of the great time. It was so much fun doing something that was out of my comfort zone (singing) and exposing so many kids to KISS. My daughter Liz Hack had the winning ticket for the Kiss Monster Demon action figure at The Kiss Expo in Indianapolis from Gene. It was amazing just being in the same room with Gene but for Liz to win and then to tell Gene that she was going to give me the signed action figure for my Mother's Day present was so Awesome, especially after the tickets to the event was my Mother's Day present from my husband Bryan Lockridge.
