microtia

This letter is for Paul. I recently shared your comments on microtia with a very involved group on Facebook. You have no idea how your story impacted so many people who thought they were alone. I have an 8 year old who just had reconstruction done, but no hearing repair as of yet. Your story convinced me that I need to continue to explore the options. You inspired me and have now inspired many others. I hope you will continue to communicate with others who have or have children with microtia and thanks for being so candid! Jen

Halifax NS Canada 2013

Dear Gene, I am very happy to have tickets for this years concert on August the 1st. I did have tickets to see you when you were here a couple years ago, on the commons, but wasn't able to attend. I was so excited to come see you! At that point in time the H1N1 virus was going around and I was one of the lucky few to catch it. I stayed in bed for days trying to nurse myself back to health but it didn't work. Five days after I became a confirm case of swine flu, I was admitted to the hospital with very low blood pressure and oxygen levels. By the end of my first night in the hospital I was on life support. It was a day before your concert and it was all I could think about. From my "death bed" I pleaded with the doctors to let me sign myself out to allow me to attend the concert. I promised to return as soon as it was over but I wanted to see KISS play before I died, and since they were telling me that could happen they should let me go. After I pulled out all of the tubes and tried to get out of the bed, because I was coming to see you, the doctors had it with me. They sedated me, all the while I was asking to be wheeled to a wing of the hospital where I could at least hear the music. I woke up a few days later, annoyed! I knew I had missed the concert and I was so sad. My fiance promised that if you ever came back I could go. I am over the moon about coming to see you in August at the Metro Center!!!!!!! I know that it will be an amazing show and a life long dream, for myself, fulfilled. This letter is to Thank the band for returning to Halifax. I can't wait to see and hear you!!!! Sincerely Amanda Long p.s. The only way I will miss this is if I'm dead, I won't be going to the hospital this time.

Cheektowaga dentist has roots in KISS music

Dr. Eric Schroeder wanted to be a dentist since he was an 8-year-old boy growing up in Lancaster. He credited his family dentist for planting an interest that Schroeder could not shake. He worked for two years as a dental technician before entering the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where today Schroeder teaches a course in gum assessment. Schroeder was 13 when he discovered KISS, the white-faced metal band that formed in the '70s. It didn't take long before he became a passionate fan. Today, Schroeder is 51, and his dental office is a KISS shrine. So is his home behind it. People Talk: Do they call you Dr. Love? Eric Schroeder: They call me Dr. Kiss. PT: Why did you turn your dental practice into a stage? ES: Because I learned a lesson from the band KISS. They were told many times that their idea for a band was stupid, that it's never going to work and they were wasting their time. Their response was: "Nobody tells us what we should do. We will succeed." Thirty-six years later they're still cranking away. PT: Do you treat people with your KISS makeup on? ES: The makeup would be one thing but the full costume? I cannot sit down in a regular chair because the boots are 8 inches high I can't get up out of the chair. Plus I can't wear my dental mask. PT: How do patients react to your passion for KISS? ES: People like it. It's a nice way to bond with people because there is no pretension. I am not better than them; I am just a dentist, a normal guy who can fix teeth. I think it's an icebreaker, really. When the younger kids come in, they kind of get a taste of KISS and they get into it - maybe get some albums or watch Gene Simmons "Family Jewels" show. PT: Have you ever talked to Gene Simmons? ES: Oh yeah. I met them all. Gene Simmons has my office sign on his Website. I have a stack of tickets 6 inches thick from all the concerts I went to see. PT: Does your KlSS obsession give the profession a bad name? ES: Not in any way, shape or form. As a matter of fact, I am applying to be on the forensic dentistry staff at the Sheriffs Department, I was an anthropology major and it fascinated me.

KISS/Promo

Hello KISS, I am excited to see you guys here in Montreal July 29, however I am a bit upset because I hear no ads promoting the show. I have written many myself and post them on my FB page, here's an example: If you want to be Dressed to Kill and celebrate Halloween this summer than on July 29 at the Bell Center in Montreal dont miss KISS. Go to evenko.ca or call 514 790 2525 for tickets and see all the blood spitting, rocket firing, and much more as KISS takes the stage and holds nothing back. The KISS Army will Rock July 29! from, Brad Liverman

Thank you

Hello, I just wanted to say that I'm a very big fan of the group. I first saw Kiss about 10 years ago in Albany, NY and it was my first and to this date only Kiss show. I was not a fan at the time of the band or the music but that night changed me. It was and still is to this day the best show I've ever been to and have been a big fan ever since then. I was planning a trip to see the band in concert at Turnng Stone Casino on July 28,2011. I had to sell my tickets since this was the scheduled date of my Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass which has been the best thing I've ever done besides getting married. Since surgery I've lost 183 lbs. I'm almost half the person that I once was. I'm much more healthier and happier and am able to do a lot more now with my wife but more importantly with my children. I just saw that KISS will be returning to Turning Stone in August which is only 3 & 1/2 hours away. I would love to see the band again and I take my wife and/or oldest daughter who is a fan now too but it my not happen this year sine we just welcomed the newest member to our family, our third child, and first son. He is our world. If we could make arrangements to attend we will but t this point we might not be able to. Just hope the band continues to tour o get to see them.. Either way I know it'll be a great show. Thank you for being great and entertaining, Eric Catlin
