A KISS Rookie's Tribute to the Fox
Hi, Paul, Gene, Eric, and Tommy!
My name is Suzy Royal and I'm 19 years old and a PROUD member of the KISS Army. I've been in the ranks for almost a year, but I probably know more about the psycho circus that is your KISStory than most rookies; in fact, I wrote an essay on your evolution for my first semester of college English (Lucky for you guys, I'm an English major!) Gene, I focused particularly on your experiences of coming to America at age 9 and struggling with childhood bullies and how it influenced you when you and Paul started out. Your story is really inspiring to me because I have mild cerebral palsy as a result of being born 25 weeks early and a grade-3 brain hemorrhage. I didn't start walking until I was 5. I struggled with my share of naysayers too, mostly in the form of teachers who overestimated my physical capabilities. I'm finishing up my first year of college and you're the freakin' Demon for crying out loud! I'd say we both proved our naysayers wrong, wouldn't you? I'm also deeply impressed by your strong work ethic and patriotism. You've built an empire of fantastic music and talent and it has gone down in the annals of this country's music history. Paul, "Nowhere To Run", "Tomorrow", and "Easy As It Seems" are some of my absolute favorite songs you've ever done. Your vocals are HEAVENLY! Tommy, your solo in "Modern Day Delilah" is EPIC; it's my favorite part! Eric, your voice is fantastic on "Beth" and "All For The Glory". You're one cool cat! (Beth is my mom's name!) My 20th birthday is August 25 and I CAN"T WAIT to celebrate with you guys on the 29th at the Cellaris Amphitheater in Atlanta. I'll be proudly wearing the Fox's makeup. (Did I mention I'm minoring in "Rockology"? My professor's name is Eric "Little Ceasar" Carr!) Watching videos of him blasting out "Black Diamond" and "Young and Wasted" and watching "The Tale of the Fox: The Eric Carr Story" made me come down with a chronic case of Fox fever. (There's no cure for this one, Dr. Love!) Eric has actually inspired me to start learning to drum. I deeply regret being born in 2001 and missing the epicness that was 80s KISS. I'm planning on going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to see what I missed out on. (Hello, Eric's "Animalize" drumkit!) I have always loved 80s music, especially Journey, Phil Collins, and you, of course! It would mean so much to me if I could meet you guys at the show, if just for a little while, so I could tell you how much you mean to me, 'cause you guys ROCK!
Paul, you've got me starstruck! Gene, you're the Demon with the heart of gold!
Tommy, your guitar playing is outta this world! Eric, you're the cat's meow and a purr-fect drummer! (P.S: Can a cat and a vixen be friends?)
Can't wait to rock Atlanta with you! Long live KISS! RIP Little Ceasar!
