KISS IN EVERETT

Hey Kiss, Here is a picture of me and my nephew Ben after the concert in Everett. My brother and I decided to surprise him by taking him and he had no idea we were going to see you guys until about 45 minutes before the doors opened. When we handed him his new kiss t-shirt along with his ticket his jaw dropped and he couldn't believe it. We then went in and saw that kiss is showing no signs of slowing down. unbelievable show! kiss certainly sets the standard for which rock concerts are measured. Amazing! Thank you Kiss for coming to Everett enabling my brother and I to give our nephew an awesome start to his summer vacation and a night we all will never forget. Chris Bonstein

Mini-KISS / Mini-Mart

KISS unites strangers at my local mini mart. As I headed out to The KISS show last week, I stopped by my freeway entrance, mini mart. I knew I'd need that extra bottle of water, after a night of being, "Hot, Hot, Hotter than Hell" ala KISS. As I popped into the store, the owner incredulously asked, "Is that you?" He doesn't know my name, nor do I know his, but he is "the guy at the mini mart" and I am one of his many anonymous customers. He sells me that rare lotto ticket, quart of milk, headline newspaper, pack of gum or bottle of water, when quickly needed. I usually wear a sporty pony tail and casual clothes, when I pop in. Not this time, as I was en route to the sacrificial altar of rock. I was dressed in full KISS regalia...lots-o-lipstick and hairspray, fishnets and stilettos, draped in cleavage and spray-on tanner! I was a bit embarrassed, as I wasn't for public consumption or the glaring lights of 7-11, wear. I told him, where I was going and although he grew up in Taiwan, he said, "Oh, I really love KISS!" (It was cute the way he said it, with his accent, it was more like, "I leally ruv KISS.") We then discovered we were exactly the same age and had both grown up under KISS Kulture in different lands, as an Asian boy and an American girl. We bonded with a KISS. Yesterday, I popped in with my standard suburbia pony tail and he said, "How was KISS?" I ran out to my car to get my camera and showed him my photos. (Note God of Rock / God of Thunder, attached. Gene deserves the cover of Rolling Stone!) As he was scrolling through my shots, a guy came in to buy beer and impatiently asked what we were doing. (We were holding up the line, that is what we were doing.) We said, we were looking at KISS concert photos and then, he asked to see, and we handed him the camera. Two girls coming into the line, looked over his shoulder and joined in. We had a Mini KISS Koncert at the roadside, Mini Mart. They excitedly asked questions about the show, I eagerly gave the exclamatory, rave reviews. Suddenly, nobody cared about the time or the line. We were all sharing a KISS concert in our minds! The girls gave me their email address so I could send them the shots, as "their boyfriends are also huge KISS fans." What a sample of society, walking through a Mini mart door.Taiwan to Seattle, construction worker to 20-something girly girls...AND their boyfriends. What a testimony to the fan base of KISS. All KISS Krazy and having fun at an impromptu mini mart, meet and greet, with KISS! The anonymity of that quick stop mini mart, turned into a fan'fest friendship with KISS creating the connection. My camera showed more than the pictures of a concert, but the power and pervasiveness of omnipresent KISS, across the world and through the age groups. KISS was the connection! Oddly enough, nobody was buying any Dr. Pepper, at that particular moment...It was all pure Dr. Love and our KISS Love'fest!

15 Years Ago Today

07/02/2011 I've been a KISS fan my entire life. Literally. My family had a tradition of the new born baby bringing home gifts to the older siblings. Upon coming home from the hospital, the gift I gave my brother, Todd, was the toy KISS guitar. But 15 years ago today, KISS changed my life. It was 1996, I was a timid and confused young man who had recently been dumped by the girl I took to the Junior Prom. I was 16 years old, recently diagnosed with biological depression, and confused about a thing called life. One thing I was looking forward to though was seeing my favorite band, recently reunited and back in their trademark makeup. I had been counting down the days till the show for weeks, and when the day finally arrived, I was so excited I could barely stay inside my skin. After all, I was about to see KISS, the original KISS! Alice in Chains opened the show, and put on a great performance, and left the crowd waiting for their heroes. Moments before the house lights went down, The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," blasted on the arena's sounds system. The curtain dropped in front of the stage, displaying the KISS logo. I was ready, my home town of St. Louis was ready, then the lights dimmed, and I heard the words I had waited my whole life to hear, "ALL RIGHT ST. LOUIS! YOU WANTED THE BEST! YOU GOT THE BEST! THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD, KISS!!!!! The curtain dropped, displaying my heroes, as the band blasted into, "Deuce." It was unreal. I was happier than I had been in a long time. I band pounded their way though a setlist of classic tunes. I knew Ace's guitar would smoke during his solo, but when the rockets shot out of the neck, I almost lost my mind. When they played "100,000 Years," and the flashpots went off when Paul asked us, "Do you feel alright?" I could feel the heat of the flames from our seats up in the rafters. They destroyed St. Louis that night, and left the crowd stunned from what they had just witnessed. I walked away from that show speechless. The show spoke to me on so many levels. If a concert can be that amazing, then why can't life be as equally amazing? In some strange way, seeing my heroes on stage gave me a different outlook on life. I have seen KISS 14 times since that first experience 15 years ago today, and to this day every show reminds me that life has no limitations. Anything one desires in life can be achieved. KISS is living proof of that. As time went on in my life, and I went through other trying times, and KISS has been there to help pull me through. In 2004, in the mist of my divorce, and the hardest period in my life, seeing KISS on the "Rock The Nation," tour helped my keep my chin up and kept me looking at the positives in life. I've seen KISS from the front row and I've even met them backstage, but something inside me always remembers that hot summer night in 1996 up in the rafters when KISS changed my life. Memories of a first KISS last a lifetime.

Hello Kitty KISS Tattoo

Soo my girlfriend and I had seen a story recently that Gene Simmons was talking to "Sanrio" about putting together a "Hello Kitty KISS" line of merchandise. The funny thing is that my girlfriend got this tattoo a few months back soo we thought we would share this photo of her tattoo to re-assure Gene that he is a true marketing genius !!
