I Love It Loud: The Gene Simmons Rock Show returns to BBC2 Tonight

Gene Simmons is back with a new episode of his I Love It Loud show on BBC Radio 2 tonight at 10:00 PM (local UK Time). The episode will be available  online or On Demand at the BBC Radio 2 page after the broadcast.

The KISS founding member and all-round rock expert spins his favourite tunes, from the likes of AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper.

KISS & Google Collab to Make Live Phone Cases

KISS bassist Gene Simmons talks about the new Live Case designs and why he loves his Pixel in a blog post from Google.

�If you�re a KISS fan, you�ve probably spent some crazy, crazy nights rocking out in face paint. But what about when you want to bring a little KISS with you to work or Grandma�s house? You might want to leave the face paint at home, so we�ve got you (and your phone) covered.�

KISS has joined forces with Google to create 12 limited edition Live Case designs for Pixel and Nexus phones available on the Google Store. Bette Ann Schlossberg from Google had the chance to ask Gene Simmons, the Demon himself, about the collaboration:

Bette Ann: We heard you�re on #teampixel. What do you love most about your Pixel?

Gene Simmons: I love the sleek, edgy look of the Pixel. It�s technologically advanced, but still intuitive and easy to use. And I love the camera! The photos I�ve taken of my family on my Pixel are so clear, I�ll never forget those moments. This picture of my daughter and me is one of my favorites�we�re hanging out as I get ready for a show.

What made you want to create these Live Cases?

 I was pumped that Google and KISS could work together � what a power couple. I love that Live Cases are another way for fans to express themselves. Our fans have evolved a lot over the last 44 years, and merch has always been really important to them. I think of Live Cases as the new concert T-shirt.

Do you have a favorite Live Case?

The one with the close-up of my face and make-up�of course!

How do you use Google products while you�re on tour?

I�m always starving after I wrap up a show, so I use my Google Assistant to find late night food. And I tell my Google Home to play music all day long�it never gets sick of me!

How has technology changed your work as a musician/performer (in studio and on the road)?

Technology has changed everything for us, especially in the recording studio and with record sales. We used to record reel-to-reel, a-trak, and CDs. Now we record digitally and everything is streamed and bought on iTunes, Spotify or Google Play. It�s a whole new world and Google helps us navigate it.

KISS, Vampirella team up to lead off this week's comics

Mount Laurel-based Dynamite Entertainment has stockpiled a wealth of classic licensed properties, from James Bond to Red Sonja to the Shadow. Such a deep bench allows for some pretty interesting team-ups, such as this week�s �KISS/Vampirella� #1, which teams the band that perfected putting pancake makeup on dudes with comics� foremost female vampire.

Christopher Sebela (�We(L)come Back�) writes and Annapaola Martello draws this five-issue mini, which is set in Los Angeles in summer 1974, when KISS were just starting out and Vampirella, according to the story, was fronting an all-girl rock band while simultaneously hunting monsters. The two parties team up to unravel an occult conspiracy threatening humanity and rock �n� roll itself.

"I have been in love with Vampirella ever since Forry Ackerman created her,� KISS bassist and spokesman Gene Simmons said in a press release announcing the series. �For a wide-eyed kid who grew up voraciously devouring the pages of Warren publications (Vampirella�s original publisher) � it's a personal thrill to witness this momentous event in our four-decades-old, proud comic book history.�

Philadelphia dials Dr. Love and Gene Simmons makes a House Call

The City of Brotherly Love hosted Wizard World Comic Con 2017 on Saturday June 3. What better way to draw out such a diverse array of personalities than invite �The Demon� Gene Simmons of KISS? Kicking off the weekend, the legendary Gene Simmons and his solo band project put on a special LIVE performance at The Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia�s China Town district Friday evening. Fresh off a flight, direct from the UK, Simmons took a brief break from the KISS world tour to entertain legions of fans for what would be the last appearance on the east coast in 2017.

As The Troc quickly swelled to a maximum capacity, Philly�s own MACH22 opened up the night. It would seem that MACH22 is getting a significant amount of their own attention these days as they�ve been awarded the honor of opening for a number of world famous musicians. Next up would be your favorite band�s favorite band in Creem Circus. How to describe this motley crew? Goulash! These guys truly are a mixture of 70�s meets 80�s influences of rock and a fashion statement to boot. If nothing else they certainly are an entertaining act to watch. It was later divulged in their set that Creem Circus guitarist, Jim Cara, has been Gene�s Custom Bass maker for many years at Gene Simmons Axe Company. Having such connections certainly doesn�t hurt. The old adage �it�s all who you� know wasn�t just licked off the grass. No sooner would CC�s set end then the chants of �Gene Gene Gene Gene�� would consume the sound waves of the theatre.

So now the time had finally arrived for one of the most iconic musicians in the history of the world, Gene Simmons, to take the stage. This man may literally be the inventor of merchandising in the music industry. There is simply no parallel when it comes to the marketing genius of Simmons. KISS is certainly one of the most legendary bands of all time, and there can be no doubt that the fire breathing, blood spitting, demon with a reptilian like tongue is its architect.
