Any time KISS come to town it’s a rock’n’roll homage, a fantasy camp, a festival for many of its ecstatic fans. However, when KISS come to town for the final time, there’s a sense of finality to this almost 50-year adventure with its four members, who became superheroes to generations of fans. None more impacted than the KISS ARMY.
Fans have come from all over the country, and the globe, to go on tour with this super group, for this is the final time they will suit up in their iconic makeup and personas for Australian fans.
John Salzone (Sydney) and Chris Pantelis (Coober Pedy) are super fans who have travelled the world to see this band on iconic KISS KRUISES, in European countries, Japan, and KISS’s hometown the USA.
John Salzone “I’ve seen KISS 75 times since 1995, in all parts of the world. Touring with KISS is as much about catching up with the extended KISS Family as it is seeing the band. I’ve made lifelong friends thanks to KISS.”
Chris Pantellis Coober Pedy – “KISS is a way of life. I’ve seen them over 60 times and it always feels like the first time every time. I have friends forever thanks to KISS.”
For them, like many, this is a sad but celebratory event where many of the Interstate and internationals arrive days early to attend KISS afternoons and end-of-the-road pre-parties.
For me whilst having attended six KISS cruises and over 25 KISS shows, this time it’s special, a little sad, yes however we all savour this moment gathering with friends in adoration of the hottest band in the world.
It’s Tuesday night. That moment arrives, when the lights go down and a deep drone of a C chord vibrates the EnterCent floor as the massive KISS curtain hangs across the stage. And then – “ALRIGHT ADELAIDE YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD KISS.”
