Gene Simmons to appear at HeavyCon in Birmingham

KISS frontman Gene Simmons is just one of the stars who will be taking part in one of the largest rock and metal fan conventions later this year.

HeavyCon will be taking place from September 30 until October 2 at Birmingham NEC, and the venue will be transformed for three days.

New features this year include the Motorhead Museum, with exclusive treasures such as the Bomber lighting rig; the HeavyArt exhibition, with rare artwork by Mark Wilkinson and the late Storm Thorgerson; the Antiques Rock show, thanks to auction house Bonhams; rockstar cars exhibition, with the appearance of some of the cars for major music stars from the 60s to the 80s including Queen and Led Zeppelin; HeavyCon Heavy Session, with riff-rockin's masterclasses by Alex Skolnick and Devin Townsend; Pink Floyd's 60 foot teacher from the Wall's live show, consider one of the iconic rock show of all the time; and lots more.

There will also be live appearances from GWAR, Abbath, The Answer, Steven Wilso nand War Of The Worlds' creatorJeff Wayne as guests in a series of Q&A sessions on the main auditorium � the HeavyCon Stage � with host Alexander Milas, executive director at TeamRock and editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer magazine.
