My Meet And Greet With KISS
Posted on 07/31/2019
When I was a kid, my first exposure to KISS was in their made for tv movie, "KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park." I had also seen the Colleyville masks and costumes, but never really thought anything of it, but in the 90's, I heard the call and enlisted in the KISS Army. Meaning, I became a fan, but didn't officially enroll in the fan club, anyways huge oppurtunities started happening. At a horror convention, known as Texas Frightmare Weekend, the first KISS member I met was "Space" Ace Frehley, then in 2016, I met the original "Catman", Peter Criss! I was so happy that I met two members of my favorite band, and I thought, now if I could meet the current lineup, that would be the ultimate for me! So when KISS announced their "End Of The Road Tour" I was both happy and sad at the same time. So I looked to see when they were coming to Dallas, Tx, which essentially is my backyard, since I live a few minutes away in a town called, Grand Prairie. So I began planning(scheming, lol) to find a way to meet the band. I have a credit union through my job and was able to get the loan, I needed for the basic meet and greet which included this awesome pic you now see before you. All the guys were wonderful, and Eric Singer loved my KISS jersey I wore! Paul Stanley said, "thank you for coming to see us!" This was after I thanked them for giving a normal guy, a chance to meet his heroes. Unfortunately, the only drawback was that I was in pain the evening of Feb.20, 2019 when this took place. Later I found out, I had bone spurs. But while I was with the band, I forgot about my pain and was able to muster a smile. I was so happy, that I almost cried. Whenever I have felt sad, depressed or upset about something, KISS has been there for me. I know, this is their last tour, but I would love to see some of these guys at conventions, here in Texas, where I could let them know how much they mean to me. I did love meeting them, just wish I had been able to talk to them for a little while, but I'm grateful. I got to fist bump every member and that was awesome. Thank you, KISS from the bottom of my heart! I will miss you guys coming to my town and playing loud.
