PURPLE

Posted on 09/20/2011
PURPLE. Hey Paul, you know this colour! Please wear purple on September 21st and make sure everyone is aware of the terrible, life sucking disease Alzheimers is. I know all too well this disease. I continue to take care of my father. He has since been suffering from vascular dementia (Alzheimers) and it is devastating in many ways not only to those that are afflicted but also family that care and feel for their loved ones. On April 2, 2011, I was invited to the Leafs versus Senators game in Ottawa by a good friend Brian Walsh. He has great seats and I asked him if it was okay if I wore KISS make up. He had no problem with that. He knew I was a big KISS fan for years. However, I didnt tell him about my sign I had. It read, I Love you Dadits the Alzheimers I hate! My fathers a good man. My mothers a good woman. Family is important to me. Its about living, its about feelings and its about commitment. Its about love. And yet, I love KISS so go figure? I love KISS because they have been a part of my life. I grew up with my family, my friends, my neighbours, and yet, KISS would still not go away! Just for the record, my mother and father went to see KISS with me in 1983. It was the Creatures of the Night Tour in Ottawa at the Civic Centre. It was LOUD.you know.the Loudest Band in the World..KISS!!!! I want those to know that I am a die-hard KISS fan and Ive lived and breathed KISS and enjoyed as much as I could throughout my life. I have numerous stories, photos, and met the members, including the handsome and powerful Doc McGhee! However, Alzheimers has put a bump in the road where it matters most. Please People, Purple..wear it today!!!!! I submitted the screen capture from CBC Hockey Night in Canada (nationally televised) and also included a black and white photo of my father, mother, and me without KISS make up! Oh yeah.one of me looking even better as Gene!
