Howdy! My friend Nakia Reynoso is a contestant on NBC's The Voice. As a friend, I've known for years that he was greatly inspired by KISS at a young age. Nakia is a great, bluesy soul singer on Cee Lo's team, and he was recently interviewed by afterelton.com. When they asked him to describe his musical style, he responded with the following: "First and foremost, I�m a soul singer. I grew up listening to my daddy�s record collection and that was chock full of James Brown and Eddie Floyd�all these old soul singers, Otis Redding, all these old soul singers that really set the bar for what is considered soul music. So that is really where I got what I would say, my singing voice. I blame KISS for my wanting to get on stage and actually perform, though. It wasn�t until I saw Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and for me, especially Peter Criss the drummer, with the makeup and the lights and the pyro and I thought, �That�s what I want to do!� Watch my buddy sing his heart out on NBC's The Voice, Tuesday nights!
