Paul's hearing loss

Posted on 05/10/2011
Paul Stanley, I would love to know more about your hearing loss and what you did to correct it. I was born with a hearing loss in both ears and have a conductive hearing loss. When I was around 6 years old I had surgery in my right ear. I believe I did the surgery at the House Institute in Los Angeles. This was back in the 80's and doctors thought science had increased greatly for hearing loss so they thought they could fix it. The surgery I had was to replace the staples bone in my ear with a new one but it didn't work and ended up worsening my hearing in my right ear. I currently only wear a hearing aid in my left ear. Doctors left my left ear alone. I have gone through options with my audiologist such as a cochlear implant but I just not sure I really want to do that. I'd really like to know what you did and how I and others in my situation can go about doing what you did to correct your hearing. I love music and I love KISS and I play bass & guitar. As A kid in school I played the trombone and French horn. I would love to be able to hear better so as to play music better and be able to listen to your music better. Thank you for taking the time to tell people of your hearing loss and about the House Institute. Its an inspiration to know that one day I may be able to hear like you do now. Sincerely, Tyler Adams
