The easiest time to get pictures of Gene during the "blood spitting" sequence is when the red stage lights come on. Especially when he crosses his arms. He will hold the pose long enough for you to get a good picture. He will turn and look the other way and hold the pose again. If you can get him looking into your camera it is a bonus. You also get a bonus if you can catch his tongue fully extended (it flickers a lot). Just have your camera at the ready. Don't be caught off guard and miss the opportunity.
