I was deeply saddened to read of Bill Aucoin's passing on KISSONLINE. Without any doubt in my mind Bill was every bit as instrumental in KISS' climb to the top as the members of the band themselves. If Paul and Gene were the commitment and creative dynamo's behind the band, it was Bill's brilliant decision to keep the band an equal partnership that made KISS the greatest band in the world, a band where the drummer could sing a hit ballad and the guitarist could have a hit solo single. KISS appeared as a band of four equal larger-than-life personas, and that was all down to the genius of the puppet master: Bill Aucoin. Every interview I ever heard or read from Gui, he seemed so charming and full of life. Never had a bad word to say about KISS after he left the band. Great guy! Thanks for all he did. He'll never be forgotten.
