Herman Smithey IIII

Posted on 05/24/2010
I just wanted to let you know that one of the biggest KISS fans, Herman Smithey IIII, in Kansas City passed away a couple months ago from a year long battle with cancer. Herman was buried with his KISS tie on a request he made 30 years ago. We saw KISS for the first time in 1976, I believe it was the "Destroyer" tour. Herman became an accomplished rock & jazz drummer as well as a Police Officer. KISS was his musical inspiration. He left a wife & 5 children. You all have touched many poeples lives in such a good way & I wanted to let you know he took a piece of KISS to "The Big Concert Hall in the Sky." He was my very best friend & I miss him so much. Good luck to you & the "boys" & God bless your family. Gotta get back to work now......Thanks for listening. Tim Hanners
