KISStory

Posted on 12/12/2009
Hey guys. I've been rockin' out to KISS since my first 8-track tape and vinyl album in 1974 in junior high. My first concert ever was KISS in Wichita during the Alive II tour in December 1976 before there was internet. The only way of knowing about the show, living in far western Kansas, was by an advertisement placed in the Wichita newspaper. I've been fortunate enough to see KISS 14 times throughout the years and have seen all the members except the late Mark St. John. My wife of 27 years now got me the best Christmas present ever this year by purchasing a Meet and Greet session for the Dec. 2009 show in Dallas, a 6 hour drive. You guys were absolutely great to allow us to take in our cameras and some personal items to be hand signed. Even though I've been able to purchase some hand signed items such as Kisstory, etc. it was so exciting to actually watch see you sign my items right before my two eyes and thank us for coming and hoping we would enjoy the show that evening. I haven't spent as much money as some have been able to do on memorabilia or traveling to shows, but I've been through it all with you and appreciate everything KISS does for its fans. I remember some of my good friends and neighbors in the mid 70's saying KISS was satanic and the letters stood for various words all the while knowing it was just good ole plain rock and roll that KISS was about. No drinking, no cussing, no smoking; Just kicking out the best shows in the world day in and day out, year after year through 3+ decades outlasting everyone. The shows never cease to amaze me and just when I thought I'd seen it all, KISS delivered again in Dallas. The spinning drum kit, small circling stage for Paul, and bells during Gene's solo were just a few added highlights that keep things fresh along with the great new CD, Sonic Boom. Thanks for the memories and thanks for rock and rolling all nite and partying every day with the young kids to the elderly folks I've seen at shows. Sincerely, Robert in Kansas
