I wanted the best & got it

Posted on 11/29/2009
I wanted to share my KISS experience that I had this past week. I had tickets for the Anaheim show on the 24th already when I entered the Family Guy KISS concert contest, not expecting to win. I did it Tuesday-Thursday and on Friday I got a call from KTLA television that I had won. I thought I had won just the tickets they were offering, but actually I won the grand prize that included: Front row tickets to the LA show at the Staples Center on the 25th, VIP parking, a $100 gift certificate to Rock n Fish at LA Live, an autographed item from the band (still waiting for that), & 2 passes to the meet & greet with KISS. Needless to say I was blown away. So my wife Genny & I went to the 1st show at the Honda center and got to our upper section tickets content that the next night we would be front row. Well Buckcherry went on and representative from the Honda Center came to our row and gave us free seat upgrades. We ended up 4 rows from the stage next to the platform where Paul does his flying stunt! It was awesome! We were so close we actually felt the heat from the pyro! With that in mind we went the next night to the Staples Center where we picked up our passes for the meet & greet. After a wait by the entryway while Buckcherry was on stage we went backstage where the band gets ready for the show. After Dean Snowden gave us the lowdown on what to expect we were divided into 2 groups and luckily I was in group 1. We went into the meet & greet room and waited for the band to come out. The Sonic Boom Cd was playing on a boom box in a corner of the room to get us in the mood. The band came in with Doc leading the way and they started right away with the pictures. While Dean was taking the pictures Paul started singing along to Never Enough from the CD. All I can say was that I was speechless. You can tell Paul loves this album and all of them are having a good time. My wife & I got our pictures taken and then got back into line to get our signatures from the band. All 4 guys were beyond friendly and I got my Sonic Boom Cd signed as well as my pass while my wife chose to have the guys sign her boobs. I waited 30+ years to talk to Gene Simmons and we ended up having a discussion about my wife boobs. Priceless! After the meet & Greet we went back to our seats which were outstanding. After years of lousy seats I had 2 nights in a row with great seats. Several people have commented on the show already so I wont revisit that too much. KISS is the ultimate concert band anything I would write would not do them justice, just hear me that it was a killer show, both nights and I feel like the luckiest person on earth. Its funny that Thanksgiving was the next day because I had a lot to be thankful for. I appreciate KISS for being so gracious to all of us at the meet & Greet, KTLA for giving me this 1 of a kind experience, & most important my family for putting up with my KISSteria all these years and hearing this story over and over again. Plus it was my birthday on the 22nd. Life is good.
