Great Concert

Posted on 11/10/2009
Good show in Minneapolis last week! I have been a fan of the original band since 1975 and saw the reunion tour which rocked. I was very skeptical I must say about how the concert was going to be. I saw the newest lineup in 2005 out in Float Rite Park, Wisconsin. I didn't like that show because to me it didn't live up to the spark that for instance the Reunion Tour did, and the new Space Ace looked a little uncomfortable and out of place onstage in the Space Man getup. I am a big Ace Frehley fan so I wasn't giving mister Tommy Thayer a chance. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! The Minneapolis concert was by far the best show out of 4 that I have seen (82, 96, 05, 09). The band has definitely come into it's own again and It lives up to the legend that lives a long legacy in it's path. Mister Thayer was spot on in his performance the whole night so..... Okay....the guy is the new Spaceman, I get it now!!!....and what a Spaceman he is! Who says Jendell only has one guy living on the whole planet! Maybe this one is the real Spaceman and the guy we saw onstage for the first decade or so was just a drunk impersonator. LOL!!! Eric Singer kicks butt as always. Sorry to say, he makes Peter Criss look like.....Peter Criss. They are not even in the same league when it comes to playing the tubs. The guys is just a great drummer. Gene rocked as his usual demonic self in rare form, and Paul was the ring master with the great voice as usual. It is always fun to see Gene and Paul perform. It was my son's first rock concert. I was trying to explain to him about going to a concert and how fun it was to see a rock band, and there is really no way to do without actually bringing him to one, and what better concert to do that with than KISS. He is 8 years old, what's not to like. I was very happy that he was not surrounded by pot smoke, smelly hippies tripping on ACID (which by the way, if they sweat in out and accidentally rub up against you, you will also start tripping...I know this) or mean nasty people. Everyone was friendly and the people sitting next to me even watched my son, and I went to the washroom. It was very friendly crowd and definitely a lot different from the first time I saw the band (through a large fog of blue smoke in the 15th row....cough, cough). It's the most fun I have ever had at a large show, and the least amount of hassle. Great time and we will definitely see this band again. Anyway, here is my son Alex and me...with my best Gene face (sorry no makeup). Have fun on the road and we will see you again. TommyBoye (the reconverted KISS fan) and Alex
