A family affair at Cobo

Posted on 09/27/2009
What an experience! My first Kiss concert and I missed a lot of what was going on onstage. Dont feel bad for me. I got to see something wonderful, because when I wasnt looking at the stage I was watching my two girls, Jade(age 10) and Caitlynn (age 7). This was their first Kiss concert. When we got to Cobo Hall they reminded me we forgot to pick up makeup on the way down state. Thank goodness for the face painting table, who knew the pride I would feel as my young ladies turned into little KISSettes. Now this is where I admit that the main reason they wanted to come was the face painting but that soon changed. Jade barely sat down through the whole thing and I saw her inner Demon come out (tongue and all). Caitlynn spent most of the time with her hands over her ears (even with earplugs) but she sang along with the parts she knew and I will never forget the jaw dropping awe on her Catman painted face when the platforms rose (her jaw literally dropped). They both wanted to come back on Sat. to bad we had other commitments. The event staff was great from the usher who brought over earplugs because she saw Caitlynns hands over her ears(she already had a pair in) to the man who looked through all the Demon shirts to try and find Jade a small (she came home swimming in a medium because no other shirt would do). And what can you say about the fansKiss fans are the best! Watching all the great costumes or sharing a Kiss memory with a stranger makes the lines feel like they are moving quickly. I want to give a special thanks to the generous couple sitting in front of us. On the ride back up north Jade was finishing up some homework, writing a true story about herself, the title. My Favorite Band. Need I say more.
